When people ask me about this amazing Irish wedding the only response I can muster up is that: I’ve never been aware of the Lord’s presence more tangibly in my business than on that trip. It was about a two month process from the initial email from Telia to arriving back home safely in the US. Two months to gather my head around the fact that I have this amazing opportunity to be a part of something so divinely set-up that it could only possibly be from the Lord. I just haaapppened to be free on the weekend they wanted to get married…in Ireland. It was just in the knick-of-time to renew my passport that was lost, which I received about 4 days before my trip.
I don’t like to fly. I don’t like to fly by myself. I don’t like to fly by myself overseas with $20,000 worth of equipment protected by my 5’2 frame. You can see why when I initially heard from Telia I wanted to say “no way jose.”
Fear.
Fear spoke the loudest in my heart and fear was what I told the Lord I would swallow and punch in the face. So I said yes. I didn’t hear from her for about two weeks and thought that maybe it was just a little test of faith. “How willing are you to follow me even through your fears?” So I didn’t speak to anyone about it and just thought it was a cool little potential opportunity.
Then I heard from her. What the what?! They were having to take care of paper work but still wanted to book me. Heck yes. I packed all my equipment, a few outfits, and a soap bottle full of tequila. Off to Ireland I go.
Let me just tell you the Lord held me up so beautifully on the day of which was about 14 hours long (two normal wedding days in one day). I didn’t feel exhausted or tired even though I was 6 hours off of my normal time schedule. Freaking incredible. I loved every aspect of this day. Not because it was in Ireland (which is totally reason enough to love) but because Telia and David are so obsessed with each other that you kind of think it’s fake until you’re around them and you’re like “oooooh, this is real.” It’s a beautiful type of love and it showed the entire freaking time I was there. <3 <3
