New Orleans Urban Engagements w/ Kimberly + Taylor

May 29, 2018

This shoot could not have represented these two more. I asked Kimberly to think of some spots that really represent her and Taylor as a couple. Like, really dig down and think hard about it. Most couples come up with a park or a general area to explore, but Kimberly came back with ideas that surprised me. She said basketball and a record store–both places are very dear to their relationship. So ya know what we did? Shot some hoops and jammed at the record store. I loved seeing their personalities come to life doing the things that feel normal to them. Nothing stuffy and posed–just having a blast together…with a third wheel (dats me).

If you are a couple getting ready to have an engagement session, help your session be even more representative of you by actually doing activities that mean something to you. Dress comfortably, go on a date, and let that be your engagement session. I recently stopped calling them engagement sessions and started calling it a love session because that’s what it’s supposed to represent. You and your love doing the things that make you most happy–whether that’s shooting hoops or relaxing at home with a glass of wine.
