Ohio is most certainly for lovers.
This was my first out of state wedding by myself. I took a full day just to explore Cleveland and get a feel for the city. After landing, I stopped by duck-rabbit coffee and drank the most amazing espresso. Once I had my coffee buzz, I drove around in my badass neon blue Ford Fiesta and admired the industrial aspects of the city. The city was so rugged and monochromatic. Big machines crumbling rock underneath the city, as steam poured out from their pipes. It almost looked like a movie scene.
Since pizza is my love language, I found Crust and devoured most of their medium pizza by myself. It was incredible. Before driving into the country, I decided to stop at a local beach. What a sight. I pulled up, sat in my car, stared at the dark grey sky, water crashing on the dark sand, and the overall Northwest vibe that was in front of me. After a few moments, I decided to brave it and take a little personal walk. Because I’ve watched way to many episodes of Law and Order, I cut my walk short after about 5 minutes of walking and stepping over a used syringe on the ground. Nah, I’m good.
Kristen and Brian’s wedding day was perfect. The forecast called for rain the entire day, but it didn’t until right after the very last family formal shot was snapped. I mean, literally two seconds after snapping the picture the skies were black and we ran for cover. They were such troopers. It rained hurricane style (see tent images below) for about twenty minutes at the start of their reception. I remember watching everyone scramble thinking, what the heck are they going to do. But they rocked it and handled it with such grace. My kind of people.
I was joined by the lovely B. Lauren Photo of Cleveland. If you ever need a second shooter in Ohio, holler at her. She’s incredible.
